Artifact Set

4pc Thundersoother 4pc Gilded Dreams 4pc Gladiator’s Finale 4pc Thundering Fury

Although 4pc Thundering Fury is endlessly boasted for Cyno, the damage output granted by this artifact set actually fails to outperform other options. It’s not because the set is bad, but rather it increases the difficulty of playing Cyno by a large margin. Players who are using 4pc Thundering Fury must be able to flawlessly follow a specific rotation, where Cyno should be getting four extra normal Skills between the enhanced ones. Failure to perform this will immediately bump 4pc Thundering Fury to the bottom of the list. Meanwhile, successfully pulling it off only grant a minor increase in Cyno’s total DPS (when compared to other Artifact sets).

The only upside of using Thundering Fury is that players get to produce more Energy since Cyno will use his Elemental Skill more often.

The best artifact for Cyno in Genshin Impact would be 4pc Thundersoother. Gilded Dreams and Gladiator’s Finale are both great as well, so players can choose whichever set has the best sub-stat rolls.

Artifact Main Stat

Timepiece: Elemental Mastery or ATK Goblet: Electro DMG Bonus Circlet: Critical Rate or Damage

For the artifact’s main stat, Elemental Mastery and ATK Timepiece are really close in terms of performance. Players should use whichever piece has the better sub-stat. However, if Cyno is using his best Genshin Impact weapon, the Staff of the Scarlet Sands, then Elemental Mastery is slightly better than ATK.

Travelers also need to spare some sub-stat space for Energy Recharge (ER). As Cyno is practically useless without his Burst, he should have at least:

130-140% ER if there are 2 Electro characters and/or a battery in the party 170-180% ER if there’s no battery or Electro unit other than Cyno

Best Weapons For Cyno

The Staff of the Scarlet Sands is the best weapon for Cyno in Genshin Impact. It has a low base ATK, but players can easily make it up by stacking Elemental Mastery on the General Mahamatra. Other than that, the usual Primordial Jade and Staff of Homa Polearms are excellent choices as well.

What comes off as a surprise here is Skyward Spine. The weapon’s Energy Recharge sub-stat is great to help with Cyno’s Energy requirement, and the weapon’s passive is also amazing to speed-up the movement of his Normal Attacks (including the hits in his Burst state).

As for non-premium options, players can use Deathmatch or Blackcliff Pole for extra Critical stats. Meanwhile, F2P Polearms include Kitain Cross Spear, Prototype Starglitter, White Tassel (a 3-star Genshin Impact weapon), and the brand new event-exclusive equipment, Missive Windspear.
